PLB approves Tarkwa Park for duo

The Premier League Board has approved the Tarkwa and Aboso Park as the home venues for Premier League sides Medeama and Wassaman United.

Officials inspected the facility on Tuesday and gave their approval after the pitch was deemed satisfactory of the standards of the PLB.

The Mauves and Yellows applied for switch of venue to their original home turf following a poor run of form at the adopted Essipong Stadium.

The country's leading sports field experts Green Grass Technology under-took the re-grassing and handed over the facility to its owners, the Tarkwa Municipal Assembly on Thursday.

''The PLB has approved the switch of home venue and we’re very delighted with the situation,'' Medeama PRO Ebenezer Aidoo told the club's official website.

''We thank the Community for providing the facility and Goldfields for assisting with funds for the project to see the light of day."

Medeama will play debutants Wassaman United, who will also use the venue, in a local derby on Sunday.
