Premier League boss, Welbeck Abra-Appiah has openly stated his desire to see Berekum Chelsea emerge winners in Sunday’s Ghana Super Cup match.

The reigning Premier League champions take to the field against Division One club Nania FC whose impressive displays last season earned them the FA Cup title.

However, Abra-Appiah uncharacteristically during Friday’s pre-match press conference revealed he will be rooting for the Blues just to prove the superiority of the Premier League.

“I can tell you, honestly, from my heart of heart, I wish that Chelsea at the end of the day win the trophy,” he said.

“They must carry the trophy to give pride to the League Champions of which the PLB is administering so I wish Chelsea the best of luck.

“I want them to win this trophy, honestly, I will go to the stadium to cheer Chelsea and not Nania, I am being very frank here. The Premier League champions must prove that they are worthy champions so I wish them well.”

It remains to be seen whether comments made by such an influential Ghana FA official will have any effect on the eventual result especially with respect to officiating on Sunday.
