Ghana striker Clottey fails to land Legia Warsaw deal

Berekum Chelsea striker Emmanuel Clottey has been told he will not be offered a deal by Polish giants Legia Warsaw, GHANAsoccernet.com can confirm.

The 23-year-old prolific goal poacher arrived in ?azienkowska last week hoping to convince the club to offer him a deal but has been told he will be signed by the club.

The club's Sporting Director Marek Jozwiak said: "Legia coaching staffs have decided that Emmanuel Clottey will not play for Liega. Together with the staff, we concluded that we will not use Clottey. We wish him good luck in his future endeavours."

The 2007 Ghana Premier League goal king appeared in one friendly game for the Legionnaires scoring in their 4-1 win over Wisla Plock.

He has since left Poland for Ghana.

Clottey failed to settle at Austrian side Wacker Innsbruck and OB Odense of Denmark between 2007 and 2008.
