Portuguese giants Sporting Braga are in negotiations to sign Rio Ave holding midfielder Alhassan Wakaso in the January transfer window.
The 24-year-old is on his last leg in a two year contract and could leave the club for free in the summer.
Alhassan is seen by many as the best holding midfielder in the Portuguese League and Braga want to take him now knowing very well he could be targeted by other clubs in the summer.
Rio Ave are resolved to losing the midfielder and will pocket a handsome amount or lose him for nothing if they fail to agree on a deal.
The Ghanaian was in action when Rio Ave beat Nacional 2-1 on Sunday.
