Portuguese star Simao hails Ghana midfielder Mubarak Wakaso
Mubarak Wakaso has been in top form for Espanyol this season.

Midfielder Simao Sabrosa has admitted Mubarak Wakaso deserves to play ahead of him in the Espanyol set-up.

Coach Javier Aguirre prefers to start Wakaso on the left wing ahead of the Portuguese star who was formerly in the books of Barcelona and Athletico Madrid.

Sabrosa, 33, concedes the Ghana international has the qualities to bench him at the Cornella-El Prat.

"Wakaso is performing at a high level and as a companion and friend, I'm glad," the former Besiktas player is quoted by Marca.

"I feel good.I'm a Professional and I have to respect these decisions."

Wakaso has hit a rich vein of form this term; making 25 appearances and scoring three goals in his first season at the club.

He is expeted to play in Sunday’s penultimate Spanish La Liga fixture against champions Barcelona.

Wakaso has been invited for Ghana's double 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Sudan and Lesotho.
