PREMIER LEAGUE / Premier League caps tickets for away fans at £30 / 39€

Published on: 09 March 2016

Controversy over Premier League ticket prices has reached breaking point in recent weeks with a walkout by home supporters at Anfield and prime minister David Cameron intervening on the subject. Clubs have finally acted and reached an agreement to cap ticket prices for away supporters at 30 pounds (39 euros) for the next three seasons.

The announcement was made official by the Premier League and has been well received by fans who regularly travel far and wide to follow their team.

"One of our unique selling points is the away attendance because it creates the tension, the passion, the show. We and the clubs recognise the sacrifices this group makes as well as the undoubted positive impact they have on the atmosphere generated", stated Premier League CEO Richard Scudamore.

In the wake of several clubs (Liverpool, Sunderland and West Ham to name but a few) deciding to reduce or freeze their prices for next season, all Premier League teams have come together to protect and recognise away fans' commitment through lowering ticket prices in a move that goes some way to passing the benefits of the new bumper television deal on to supporters.
