Presec steals show at Asamoah Gyan Foundation event

Yaro Samuel and Ibrahim Wassilatu emerged the overall best athletes in the maiden Sports and Music Jamboree organized by the Asamoah Gyan Foundation.

Samuel, a student of Teshie Presec Senior High School and Wassilatu who attends the West African Senior High School received certificates, products from event sponsors and a plaque of honour as part of their prize package.

The duo will also receive a full scholarship and will embark on an all-expense paid trip to London for the 2012 Olympics by kind courtesy of African Origins Travel and Sports Tourism.

Christabel Yeboah was adjudged the best player while Christiana Boayteng emerged the Goal Queen after hitting seven goals in the female soccer event.

Teshie Presec beat the other 19 competitors to place first in the overall team event in the fun-field multi sports competition at the Sports Oval of the University of Ghana, Legon.

The competition is aimed at giving the platform to budding sporting talents in the country for future use.

The event was also used to check the HIV status of willing students and other participators while also offering more education on the deadly disease.

Music icon Castro and ace comedian Funny Face were in attendance to offer quality entertainment during the two-day event which had several sporting officials and coaches on scouting duties.
