Ghana striker Prince Tagoe says he has joined Serbian giants Partizan Belgrade to enable him get regular playing time.

GHANAsoccernet.com broke the news on Tagoe on Sunday, one day before the Serbian club announced the deal.

The Serbian champions signed Tagoe on loan from Germany's Hoffenheim where he struggled for playing time.

Tagoe took a pay cut to move to Serbia but he insists regular playing time will help regain his top form.

"The main reason I joined Partizan is because I need regular first team football and I believe this is a step forward in my career," said Tagoe, who made only 12 appearances for Hoffenheim since he joined in 2009.

"I heard a lot of good things about Partizan and I will be completely focused on winning trophies with the club, I have worked hard to stay in shape and I am looking forward to joining my new team mates in training," he added.

Tagoe has scored four goals in 22 internationals and helped Ghana reach the 2010 World Cup quarter-finals.

He joined Partizan on a six-month loan with the option of making a permanent move at the end of the season.
