Profligacy cost us - Hearts coach

Published on: 21 November 2011

Hearts of Oak coach Nebojsa Vucicevic has blamed his side's poor conversion rate for their inability to win against rivals Asante Kotoko in the Ghana Premier League derby on Sunday.

Hearts played out a highly entertaining match against Kotoko at the Accra Sports Stadium but the game failed to produce the goals to match with the quality of play.

Though boastful of the best defensive record in the Premier League, the Phobians’ inability to make it count at the other end is now seen by the Serbian trainer as a real problem.

"We played very good today, we had three or four chances today but we failed to score,'' Vucicevic told MTNFootball.com after Sunday's game.

"Scoring is now a concern for me, like I said today we had three or four chances but we didn’t score."

Vucicevic has hinted the club might have to go shopping come the January transfer window.

"Most of our attackers are playing with slight injuries so I had to turn to young player Gabriel Armah maybe we need to get some more strikers," he added.
