Q&A: Jordan Ayew in extensive interview following move to Lorient
Jordan Ayew has joined Lorient from Marseille

Ghana striker Jordan Ayew speaks extensively following his permanent move from Olympique Marseille to FC Lorient.

Jordan, can you please describe your background before coming to FC Lorient?

At the age of 14, I arrived at the Training Centre of the Olympique de Marseille. I remained there until December 2013 before being loaned at the end of last season to FC Sochaux. After my loan spell ended I returned to Marseille, before finally arriving here.

Did Sylvain Ripoll have a role to play in you signing?

Yes, and the President as well. They fought a lot for me to sign Lorient. I made ??a choice and I am very happy. I felt that they trusted. Everything is going fine.

What do you know of the club?

I knew a little of club since the passage of my brother in 2009. Today is a new era. The coach is new and the training center is brand new. When Andre played here, the players trained on the ground next to the stadium. Now this is no longer the case. The club is well structured and I am impressed.

Is this the style of play and infrastructure which tipped the balance in favor of FCL?

Yes, exactly. I am very happy to be here. I hope that we will have a great season. I'll try to bring my experience to this group in order to achieve the collective goals of the club.

Have you set any goals?

I do not set goals for myself. The goal for now is to integrate well with my new teammates. I'm here to play. The most important thing is that the team wins. I hope to have a lot of pleasure and fun together on the field. We will win matches together.

What are you bringing to FC Lorient?

I will not change my style. I'll try to make my full rigor. I'm a competitor and I do not like losing. I was trained to be a competitor. I had the opportunity to meet great players in Marseille. I'll try to keep going and move here. I'll take a course.

Despite your young age (22 years), you already have some experience of high-level ...

It's true that I'm young. Having more than 120 matches in Ligue 1 is already very beautiful. I will try to make the most of this experience even if some club players are more experience than I am. I think of Fabien Audard and Yann Jouffre. My goal is to bring more.

How would you describe your playing style?

I came here to play alongside Vincent Abubakar. I replace Jeremiah Aliadière. After that, I'm available to the coach.

Precisely, what do you think of Vincent Abubakar?

He  is a very good player who scored a lot of goals last season. It is trust. The goal is to be efficient collectively.

Do you have a message for the fans?

I am very happy to be at FC Lorient and I hope that this season will be very beautiful. We will do everything that to make sure the club continues to grow.
