Ghana winger Quincy Owusu Abeyie wants to play for the Black Stars at the 2013 African Cup of Nations.
The 26-year-old has impressed heavily since he joined Greek giants Panathinaikos at the start of the season.
But the Dutch-born star has not featured for the West African heavyweight since he last played at a 2012 Nations Cup qualifier against Sudan in 2011.
The former Arsenal man is confident his sublime performances for Panathinakos will earn him a recall into the team ahead of the continental showpiece in South Africa next year.
ââ¬ÅI'm always prepared to play for the Black Stars whenever I am called upon to do so,â⬠Abeyie said
ââ¬ÅBut that depends on the technical handlers of the team whether they need me in the team or not.
ââ¬ÅI still play regularly in Greece for Panathinaikos.
ââ¬Åà I'mà hoping to be part of Ghanaââ¬â¢s final squad to the AFCON in South Africa, but I will continue to fight back into the team even if I am not selected.ââ¬â¢Ã¢â¬â¢
Abeyie has earned a reputation as a journeyman, having played for several clubs including Cardiff, Celta Vigo, Malaga, Spartak Moscow, Al Sadd, Birmingham and Portsmouth.
