Milovan Rajevac is the favourite to win the best coach in African award after being named in a three-man shortlist for his exploits with Ghana.

The Serbian was named in the shortlist by the Confederation of African Football (Caf) on Saturday.

Rajevac will battle with Hassan Shehata of Egypt and TP Mazembe’s Senegalese coach LamineN'Diaye.

Rajevac is the favourite because he steered the Black Stars to the quarter finals of the World Cup held in South Africa in July.

He was also in charge when they reached the final of the African Cup of Nations in Angola in January and were beaten by Egypt 1-0.

Shehata was the coach of Egypt when they won the tournament in Anogla while N’Diaye led the DR Congo club to win the Africa Champions League crown this year.

The award ceremony will be held in Cairo on 20 December.
