Ransford Osei signs six-month deal with Bloem Celtic

Published on: 04 January 2012

Ghanaian youngster Ransford Osei has signed a six-month contract for South African top flight side Bloemfontein Celtic.

The 21-year-old wants an avenue to revive his dwindling career after remaining inactive for close to one year.

Osei impressed Celtic coach Clinton Larsen and the technical team during his training spell with the Siwelele.

The club will begin work on his work permit this month.

"We will be looking to add on to our great performances towards the end of last year and build on those back-to-back wins, and I think this signing is a prudent one and he is a player of great promise and will add a touch of class to our squad," said Celtic CEO Khumbulani Konco.

''He has played for some highly-rated teams like Maccabi and FC Twente and that experience will stand him and the club in good stead for the rest of the season,'' he added.

The 2007 Fifa Under-17 World Cup silver shoe winner has struggled to meet expectations after failed stints abroad.

Osei has played for Maccabi Haifa, FC Twente and Granada.

Oh this guy. He's one of the finest players I tipped to be great but unfortunately for him things went against him but to me I thk he can still come back cos Ghana can't afford to loose players like Ransford Osei, Sadick Adams, Ismeal Yartey and co. May ur star shine where ever u guyz are.

Bloemfontein Celtic of South Africa signed him for just six months? Implication is that they aren't sure of his work rate or quality. Mr. Osei can you come home and relaunch 'yourself'?

This chap is surely better than Adiyiah. Matter of fact, Adiyiah excelled at his expense because he attracted the defenders away from Adiyiah and created the spaces for him to score. I back him to climb back into the BS squard by 2016.

@Billymoore I think Osei is the one who want only six month contract,so that he can leave for free if he mpresses european scouts while in South Africa.

@pralem,foolish talk! How on earth is he a better finisher than Gyan.Do you think we are playing under 20s with untested defenders that you can go past easily?Since going to the big men league, how many goals has he scored?!That is what you typical Ghanaians do,creating big shoes for young talents and over hyping them to the extent that when it they are now called to the big stage, they fizzle out!

open-book,he is coming back to the stars by 2013 and not 2016.He is our lead striker for 2014 world cup. Moreover, Osei also has options to consider else where, that is why he signed 6months.Contracts are not solely the dictates of the clubs involved.Players also have choices. For circumstances beyond his control, Ransford shouldn't be playing in the s.a league. God is with u boy.
