Ransford Osei wants FC Twente stay

Ghana youth international Ransford Osei is keen to remain at Dutch champions FC Twente with the expiration of his "inactive" season's long loan spell.

The 20-year-old joined the newly crowned Eredivisie champions last summer from Maccabi Haifa but was mainly a fringe player under coach Steve McClaren.

The 2007 Fifa Under-17 silver shoe winner was pipped to a starting role by experienced attackers Blaise N'Kufo and Bryan Ruiz.

"He wants to stay but the problem now has to do with future of coach McClaren. He's being linked with a move to Germany and England and that looks like an obstacle. Nonetheless, he's considered a talent will be retained by the club," the player's local representative Fred Acheampong told Ghanasoccernet.com.

"Next season he might be a huge success because of his speed and love for the Dutch game. Hope is not lost yet."

FC Twente defeated NAC Breda 0-2 on the last day of competition last Sunday to win their first Dutch title in the club's 45-year history and finishing one-point clear of chasers Ajax.

Osei was an unused member of the Ghana team that won silver at the Africa Cup of Nations in Angola early this year.

He scored four goals for Ghana's Under-20 team en route to winning the 2009 Fifa World Cup in Egypt.
