Rashid Sumaila begins pre-season with Al Qadsia in Dubai

Ghanaian defender Rashid Sumaila commenced preseason with Kuwaiti champions Al Qadsia in Dubai on Wednesday after joining the team on Monday in the oil rich country.

Sumaila, 23, joined the defending champions who were already in Dubai preparing for their title defence as the new season looks set to start in a a few weeks time.

Sumaila was adjudged the club's best defender for the 2015/16 season and emerged as the best foreign player in the Kuwaiti league following his stupendous performance.

He scored three goals in 38 appearances in all competitions for the champions last season.

Al Qadsia will be chasing their 18th Premier League title if the season zooms off following their title triumph last season which became the club's 17th league title.

The former Asante Kotoko defender's performance for the champions was unmatched and is expected to inject the team with an improved performance for the new season.
