Defender Rashid Sumaila says he is desperate to help Al Qadsia progress to the semi finals of the AFC Cup as they come up against Jaish on Tuesday.

Al Qadsia carry a healthy 3-0 lead into the second leg quarter final clash.

Jaish have decided to honour their official home match in Kuwait due to political instability back home in Syria.

They will therefore crucially be without home advantage – almost already ceding the semi final place up for grabs to Al Qadsia.

Rashid Sumaila is thus urging his side to make their simile advantage count as Al Qadsia inches closer to success in Asia’s second tier league competition.

“We have no excuse now that we are playing the second leg also at home,” he told GHANAsoccernet.com.

“We must win to progress to the semi finals. It is very important for us.”

Sumaila missed the first leg encounter as he was still yet to confirm his permanent move to Al Qadsia.

The Ghana international only made his move to the Kuwaiti club permanent this summer after excelling on a short-term loan stint.
