Ghana defender Rashid Sumaila has congratulated the Black Stars for their splendid performance over Comoros in the 2nd leg of the 2018 World Cup qualifier last Tuesday.

The Black Stars defender who is yet to earn his first call up under coach Avram Grant since his appointment lauded his colleagues for their hard won victory over the Les Coelecantes.

Ghana needed to win the game over their opponents at all cost after a goalless encounter in the first leg in Moroni and two goals from Wakaso and Jordan in each half did the tric for the Black Stars.

Sumaila who is now the reliable pillar in defense for Al Qadsia in Kuwait says the Black Stars have done a splendid job.

“It was a great performance and I think the Black Stars did well. Many people underrated the Comorans but they were tactically a difficult side,” Sumaila said.

“I must commend Coach Avram Grant for raising the confidence level of our players. This is just the beginning and I hope we will do better in our next games.”
