Defender Rashid Sumaila has pledged his future to Ebusua Dwarfs, putting to bed rumours of his imminent departure.

The 22-year-old has been the subject of serious transfer talk this post-season, with himself confirming holding advanced talks with officials of Hearts of Oak over a possible move.

There were also intense rumours he was well on his way to joining Asante Kotoko as the replacement for South Africa bound Awal Mohammed.

The 2011 All Africa Games gold medalist has however beat a massive retreat by saying he intends seeing out the remainder of his contract with the Cape Coast side if he fails to land a foreign contract.

“There are so many local clubs chasing me but I want to respect my contract with Dwarfs and play for them till the end of the season,” he told ATL FM in Cape Coast.

Sumaila has just returned from trials with Moroccan Champions Moghreb Tetouan.

He emerged the 2011 Ghana Premier League Best Defender upon which he earned his debut call up to the Black Stars.
