Rashid Sumaila wins MVP as Qadsia move on top of Kuwaiti League table

Published on: 12 February 2016

Ghana defender Rashid Sumaila displayed a man of the match performance to keep his side's dream of winning the Kuwaiti league alive after a 2-0 victory away at Al Arabi.

The home side held the visitors to a goalless draw in the first half but two successive strikes from Sultan Yasir and Mohamned Fahad in the second half scopped all the three points  away.

The win means Al Qadsia are now on top of the Kuwaiti League table after 16 matches with 41 points.

The Ghana defender was the pillar in defense for the Qadsia-based side winning all the tackles to stop the home side from testing their goalie.

Sumaila's performance ensured that goalkeeper Nawaf Alkhadli was virtually on holiday throughout the entire duration of the game.

The Ghana defender was recently linked in a scandal by a fake spiritualist who accused him of Jerry Akaminko's injury before the World Cup but has kept his shape winning three successive matches for his side after the allegations.

The fake spiritualist has since gone into hiding as Rashid Sumaila has called for his arrest.
