The management chief of the Black Stars George Afriyie has revealed head coach Avram Grant recommended Baba Rahman to Chelsea after being impressed with the left back’s ability.

Rahman, 22, is coming off a truly remarkable season with German side Augsburg where he helped them secure European football.

The former Kotoko left back has been linked with a host of clubs including English giants Chelsea.

Arsenal and even Real Madrid have all been touted as suitors but George Afriyie says its Grant’s recommendation that has thicken Jose Mourinho’s interest.

“The coach always wants to build a relationship with the club and the player so that in future if issues of delay in release he can chip in a word,’” Afriyie told Accra based Happy FM

“I am sure you have heard that Chelsea are interested in Baba Rahman it’s all because Grant has put in a word for him.

Baba is currently in Ghana on holidays but is expected to sort out his future in the coming days.
