Razak Brimah pleads his innocence after he was shown the red card

Ghana goalkeeper Razak Brimah has been handed just a one-match ban for his sending off while in action for his club CD Mirandes over the weekend.

The 27-year-old was sent off after cluttering into Francisco Sandaza in a desperate attempt to clear his after just 17 minutes of the crashing defeat to Girona.

Brimah’s tackle also gave away a penalty which was converted to give Girona the lead in the Spanish second tier match.

The ex Nania FC shot-stopper was expected to cop an automatic three-match ban for receiving a straight red card for his tackle.

But Mirandes were successful in their defence of the charge against the Ghana international and will now be without their first choice goalkeeper only for Saturday’s clash against Sabadell.

He will however be eligible to play in the home game against Real Valladolid on November 8.

The verdict comes as a massive relieve to both the club and Razak Brimah who is desperate to put in his contribution to help the side steer away from relegation.
