Michael Essien arriving at Real Madrid

Hundreds of Real Madrid fans are rushing to the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium on Saturday afternoon for Ghanaian midfielder Michael Essien’s unveiling ceremony.

The 29-year-old will be shown to the fans if he passes a series of medical tests being conducted by the Spanish giants.

This comes just 12 hours after joining the former European champions on a season-long loan deal from English side Chelsea.

The Black Stars player arrived at Torrejon Air Base at 14.00 local time.

From there he went to the clinic Sanitas La Moraleja to undergo the medical tests.

He will be introduced to the fans immediately he passes the medical test.

Essien moves to the Bernabeu to link up with former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho, the man who brought him to Stamford Bridge.

He joined Chelsea from Lyon in 2005.

U’r d man tiger. It’s only real men hu can accept their faults and apologize. Chelsea made d biggest mistake of d season for loaning him out. The ppl who stand to gain are Real Madrid and Ghana Black Stars. I’m sure no one understood why he was on d bench @ Chelsea cos compared comical n sluggish play of Mikel…the least said the better. I believe we’re abt to see our Essien again.
