Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo told Uefa's official media that last season was the best of his career in terms of performances and trophies combined.
“[Last season] it was one of the best in my career, arguably the best if measured by trophies won.
“We struggled early on but [coach Zinedine] Zidane’s arrival was key to revitalise the squad."
Also, Ronaldo spoke of his delight to be in with another chance of winning European player of the year. He said it is a great acheivement to be in the top 3 every year so far.
“It’s a privilege for me to compete against [Gareth] Bale and [Antoine] Griezmann for this award.
“I’m honoured to be the only player that has been among the three finalists every single year.
“Winning the award would be a big deal for me, although I prefer winning collective titles [with Madrid and Portugal].”
