Real Madrid to lodge complaint over TV bias

Real Madrid plan to lodge a complaint over their TV media coverage.

AS reports Real Madrid are to present their case formally in front of LaLiga and its president Javier Tebas, complaining that the televised coverage of their games is prejudicial against their team.

This is according to reports coming from the programme Jugones on Spanish TV station La Sexta.

The complaint follows quickly on the back of Sunday evening's game against Villarreal in which Los Blancos prevailed - coming back from two goals down to win 2-3 - but much of the narrative surrounding their victory was focused on the controversial award of a penalty which gave Cristiano Ronaldo the chance to bring the scores level, which he duly did.

The argument that officials at the Bernabéu club are trying to make is that by putting emphasis on certain moments in a game that reflect badly on their team, while ignoring many other aspects of the match, drives a bias against the image of Real Madrid and any merits that they deserve.
