Real Tamale United relegated from Ghana Premier League

Real Tamale United have been relegated from the Ghanaian top flight for the first time their history after losing 1-0 to New Edubiase United on Sunday in the penultimate fixtures.

Edubiase United striker Stephen Manu converted a 25th minute penalty to sink the Pride of the North.

RTU have flirted with relegation for two consecutive seasons and have been poor this term.

Turk trainer Telat Uzum was first appointed but was told to step aside in the mid-way through the first half of the season.

Ex-Ghana international Mohammed Gargo told charge of the side but could not improve their fortunes.

RTU accrued 32 points from 29 matches and will join BA Stars who have already been relegated.

The last demotion place will be fought between King Faisal, Mighty Jets, Berekum Arsenals and AshantiGold on the last day of competition next Wednesday.
