Austrian giants Red Bull Salzburg have sent Ghana youth midfielder David Atanga back to their amateur side Liefering in the Austrian second-tier league.

The 2015 Ghana U20 midfielder, 18, started the season with the Bundesliga giants and featured in their Uefa Champions League qualifying round games.

But manager Peter Zeidler has sent the precocious youngster back to the junior ranks to help struggling Liefering.

Atanga marked his returned to Liefering by starring in their 4-1 triumph over bottom-placed Floridsdorfer AC.

He lasted 74 minutes in a game goalkeeper Lawrence At-Zigi and midfielder Ralph Dwamena also played for Liefering.

All three products are owned by Red Bull Salzburg.
