Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan has charged his Al Ain teammates to go all out for a win in their opening game of this season’s Asian Champions League against Al Shabab on Tuesday.

The Boss hosts the Saudi club in their opening Group B encounter at the Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium.

Al Ain enjoyed an impressive run in Asia last term but failed to reach the finals of the Champions League – crashing out at the semi final stage to Al Hilal.

The disappointment of last season’s Asian campaign which ended with a sending off of the Ghana striker is serving as an incentive for Zlatko Dalic’s side to do better this time around.

And Gyan wants the team to make a strong start by securing their first three points of this season’s continental campaign in Tuesday’s clash.

“It’s important for us to collect the three points in the first encounter, it will mean a lot to us in the Asian journey,” he said in the pre-match press conference.

“We are in a better readiness to face the opponent and will be a great incentive for us after we demonstrated the merits of our team last season.”

Al Ain are even more desperate for the win following their shocking defeat to Al Fujaiarah in the domestic league last Friday – which coincided with Gyan’s return from the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.
