Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan scored with a thunderous strike that helped his club UAE to beat Baniyas 3-0 in the top-of-the-table clash in the UAE on Wednesday night.

It was Gyan's 19th goal of the season in 11 matches for the Black Stars striker.

Al-Ain arrived in Abu Dhabi three points ahead of Baniyas and was quickly on course for victory when Jires Kembo Ekoko opened the scoring after 10 minutes.

Brosque doubled the lead two minutes after half-time before Asamoah Gyan grabbed his 19th goal, in his 11th start of the season, to complete a sixth successive league win in stoppage-time.

The 26-year-old Gyan sealed the win for the leaders in the 90th minute as they open a six-point lead at the top of the table.

Gyan completed the routine victory with a stinging 25-yard shot for his 19th league goal of the campaign two minutes into injury time.

The Ghana striker has now bagged 19 goals in 11 games, three goals better than Brazilian striker Grafite.

The three points took them six clear of their opponents and third-placed Al Nasr, who were held to a 1-1 draw by Ajman last night.
