Fans of Bundesliga 2 outfit Jahn Regensburg faced a 1094-kilometre round trip to watch their team face high-flying Fortuna Düsseldorf on Wednesday, only to see Achim Beierlorzer’s side slip to a 1-0 defeat at the ESPRIT Arena.
The 100 or so visiting supporters who did make the long trip up north were rewarded for their efforts at half-time, however, with home fans and employees of Aramark - the company that provides the catering at Fortuna’s stadium - offering the Jahn faithful free beer at the interval.
