Dutch Eredivisie side FC Twente are on the verge of terminating the contract of Ghanaian youth midfielder Mustapha Yahaya, GHANAsoccernet.com has learnt.

The 21-year-old earns 414,000 Euros a year and has contract until 2017 but he has failed to break into the FC Twente first team squad since joining three seasons ago.

Twente are looking for a solution and have asked the midfielder to train separate from the squad, meaning he could be axed from the team before the start of the season.

Renowned Dutch journalist Martin Vos explains to GHANAsoccernet.com why he think Yahaya is likely to head for the exit gates at the club.

"He's training separately from the main group and as a non EU player he costs the club a lot of money. He costs 414,000 Euros a year," the Dutch football expert explained.

First year he was not well motivated. He did not want to learn Dutch. Last season he started learining Dutch but half way he was gone.

Vos has been following the exploits of Ghanaian players at FC Twente and he discusses why Shadrach Eghan could excel last season at the club.

He had a shoulder operation. He started the season with a injury and after that he played some minutes but the he had his surgery.

When he returned the club was on fire - almost bankrupt, angry fans. I'm sure the coach protected him from that. And if I'm right his mother also passed away that period.

So last season shouldn't be counted. This year he'll be substitute. They tried him as striker but we just signed Michael Olaitan and he'll be the number 9.

Shadrach is a 10 but we have Ziyech for that positiion. He's Dutch international. Assist king of the Dutch league. So he'll be sub, but he'll get his chances. He can also play right wing in a feee role.

So first eleven no, but the coach is a fan of him so I think he'll get his minutes."
