Barrack Young Controllers in Ghana to face Asante Kotoko

Barrack Young Controllers captain Francis Jallabah insists his side maintain their full respect for Asante Kotoko but are not afraid to beat them.

The Liberian club are in Ghana to face the Ghanaian giants in the first leg of the opening CAF Champions League preliminary round.

BYC are the reigning champions of Liberia but do not have the same clout their Ghanaian opponent’s have in African club football.

Kotoko remain one of the most respected sides in Africa despite their poor showing on in recent years.

But the BYC captain says his side remain respectful of the Porcupine Warriors but will not shy away from beating them to advance their own course on Sunday in Kumasi.

“Football is all about respect, coming to play a team like Asante Kotoko and we respect them,” Jallabah told Metro FM.

“But we’re going to win, we are not here to joke but to win.”

Kotoko0 have not played in the group stage of any African club competition in eight years.

They were knocked out at the ultimate qualification stage of last season’s Champions League by Algerian club JSM Bejaia.
