Retired Dutch footballer George Boateng says he is interested in coaching the Black Stars in future.

The former Middlesbrough captain was in Ghana over the weekend to play in the testimonial match of former Black Stars captain Stephen Appiah.

Boateng was born to Ghanaian parents but went on to play for the Netherlands at both junior and senior level.

The 39-year-old is now a coach having retired from active football two years ago.

Boateng who is still picking up experience in the coaching business says he will gladly jump at a chance to coach the Black Stars in future.

“I have been managing already since last year,” he said.

“I managed a side in Malaysia called Kelantan FA and I only left them last year.

“But who knows, coaching the Black Stars will be something I would like.

“I am still building up my experience so maybe the U20 will be good for me to coach.”

Boateng won four caps for the Dutch national team after excelling at the U21 level.
