REVEALED: Griezmann has input in Atletico Madrid pursuing Lacazette from Lyon

Published on: 21 March 2017

Antoine Griezmann has reportedly played a significant role in Atletico Madrid's push to sign Alexandre Lacazette.

Reports from beIN SPORTS USA journalist David Cartlidge, via Cadena COPE's 'El Partidazo de COPE', suggest that Atleti CEO Miguel Angel Gil Marin has in place a verbal agreement with the Olympique Lyon striker for a summer transfer.

It is understood that Griezmann has had a key part in attempting to lure his fellow Frenchman to the Vicente Calderon, and any prospective transfer would help the 25-year-old remain with Los Rojiblancos.

Griezmann is a target for Manchester United who are expected to make an offer at the end of the season.

But it is believed that Griezmann wants to stay in Spain which would be made easier if Lacazette joins in the summer.

It's also said on @partidazocope tonight that Atleti and Lacazette have agreed a deal for this summer. Transfer ban permitting. #LaLiga
