REVEALED: Kevin Boateng left Las Palmas due to desire to become club's lead striker

Ghana forward Kevin Prince Boateng is reported to have shockingly left UD Las Palmas due to his insatiable desire to become the leading marksman for the club in the forthcoming campaign.

Boateng was linked with a return to Italy to join Inter Milan last month following a remarkable campaign with Yellows last season, where he plundered in 10 goals in 28 appearances.

The 30-year, however, renewed his contract for three years despite former coach, Quique Setién’s disapproval after the Ghanaian declared his determination to become the side’s leading striker.

And on Wednesday morning, reports went rife that Boateng has severed ties with the Canaria-based outfit just two days prior to the start of the new Spanish Laliga season due to personal reasons.

Nevertheless, reports from Spanish Gran Canaria Island indicate that new gaffer Manolo Marquez was not ready to kowtow to the demands of the former AC Milan kingpin, which will relegate new signing Jonathan Calleri and Sergio Araujo who scored five goals for the club last term to the bench.

Reports coming out from German also suggest that he could finalize a move to Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt in the coming days.
