Kotoko winger Richard Mpong was held hostage by irate supporters of the club following their goalless draw against Medeama in the Ghana Premier League on Wednesday.

The angry fans were unhappy with the performance of the 21-year-old and singled him out for blame.

Mpong wasted perhaps what could have been their only goal of the match when he failed to chip home with only goalkeeper Joseph Halm to beat.

The former Medeama winger missed a similar chance to have sealed the points for the club during their 1-1 draw at Hearts of Oak.

It looks like the patience of the Porcupine faithfuls are running out after they attempted to beat him.

The visibly shaken speedster was held hostage by the fans for more than an hour in the dressing room and took the intervention of the Police to avert a melee.

Mpong joined Kotoko from Medeama at the start of the season after turning down several offers from Europe.
