Swansea City boss Garry Monk has hinted that their Ghanaian midfielder Andre Ayew could be made captain of the Swans after showing leadership qualities in the club's dressing room.
Monk has been left impressed with the leadership qualities shown by the youngster since joining the club from French side Marseille in the summer.
The Swansea manager has revealed that the charismatic player is already winning over his colleagues in the Swans dressing room with his trademark pep talks.
ââ¬ÅI knew the player he was and what he could contribute," Monk said of Ayew, who is the deputy captain of Ghana's national team the Black Stars.
"I thought he would be perfect for the group, because heââ¬â¢s a leader as well. He talks to all the players and heââ¬â¢s very experienced.
ââ¬ÅEven though heââ¬â¢s still young, heââ¬â¢s a very experienced international and he passes that knowledge onto the group, which is great.
"All in all, heââ¬â¢s played an important part in our pre-season and Iââ¬â¢m sure he will throughout the season."
Ayew has made a dream start to life in the Premier League with two goals in his first two appearances, underlining the size of the coup landed by Swansea in seeing off a string of European giants to capture the Ghana World Cup star.
