Ghana midfielder Richard Boateng has been left out of Extremadura UD squad for the upcoming campaign.

Boateng, who joined the Spanish third-tier side in January is not part of coach Juan Sabas plans for the forthcoming season following his request to leave the club after getting increasingly frustrated with his lack of game time.

The 25-year-old enforcer made 10 appearances for the side and registered two goals last term but his failure to lock down a regular spot prompted his decision to seek fresh challenge elsewhere.

Boateng spent six years with Granada B, scoring six goals in his last season with the club before his move to the Almendralejo-based side in the winter transfer window.
