Robin Gnagne set to sign Hearts of Oak extension

Hearts of Oak claim they have reached an agreement with captain Robin Gnagne over the extension of his contract.

The Ivorian defender is out of contract at the end of the current season.

Reports emerged earlier in the week that Gnagne was reluctant in extending his stay with the Phobians over expectations of a bumper offer from an unnamed club abroad.

But Hearts spokesman Muheeb Saeed says an agreement has been reached with the defender to sign a two-year contract.

“The thing is that we have negotiated and agreed in principle on a two-year contract extension,” he told Happy FM.

“The hold up now is for the money for the renewal to be made available for the deal to be signed.”

Gnagne has risen to become the captain of the first team at Hearts since joining the club in 2012.
