Roda JC coach Rene Trost claims he is unaware Ghana striker Mathew Amoah has been handed a trial at the club.

The 34-year-old is in Kerkrade in his latest attempt to revive his career by winning a contract with The Miners.

Amoah is currently a free agent following the expiration of his contract at fellow Dutch club Heracles at the end of last season.

But the Roda coach who was on the sidelines to see his side draw 1-1 with Alemannia Aachen on Tuesday says he is unaware of the opportunity offered the ex Borussia Dortmund man.

“I am approached by a few people about Amoah, but I have no idea where that came from,” Trost disclosed.”

Amoah spent eight years in Holland spent eight years in Holland while playing for Vitesse before moving to German club Borussia Dortmund.

He however returned to the Netherlands two years later where he joined NAC Breda.

A failed stint in Turkey where he joined Mersin Idmanyurdru followed before returning back to the Netherlands where he played for Heerenveen and subsequently Heracles.
