Roma reach agreement for AC Milan forward

Serie A rivals Roma and AC Milan have settled on a deal that will allow Italian winger Stephan El Shaarawy to move to the Giallorossi on a permanent basis.

The 23-year-old spent the first half of the 2015-16 season on loan at Ligue 1 club Monaco but then the Rossoneri sent him to the Lupi in January and he managed to score eight goals in 16 Serie A matches.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Roma will buy El Shaarawy outright from AC Milan for €13 million but the Giallorossi directors will still need to decide how they will divide the payments.

The payment method is expected to be similar to how Alessio Romagnoli was acquired by the Rossoneri in the summer of 2015 and they are currently paying €25m to the Lupi for him over a five-year period.

AC Milan bought El Shaarawy from Genoa in 2011 but the winger has battled with injuries throughout his career despite an impressive 2012-13 season in which he scored 16 goals in 37 Serie A matches.
