Rooney: England still seeking improvement ahead of Euro 2016

Published on: 13 November 2015

Wayne Rooney says the England national team must continue to improve despite qualifying for Euro 2016 with a perfect record.

The Three Lions take on Spain and France in two international friendly matches this week and Rooney believes the fixtures will be a good test for his side.

"Our objective after the World Cup was to qualify but we now have to move on," Rooney said.

"It will be a tough night against Spain who have lots of very good players so we will have to work hard and then we've got another tough game against France.

"We have to perform and learn the way we want to play much better because these games will be a much bigger test than the qualifiers.

"We know we've got a good squad and an exciting squad of players. It's a young squad though and we still need to improve."
