Roughed-up Toure not bothered at drawing blank

Asante Kotoko striker Ahmed Toure insists he is not bothered at his failure to score against Hearts of Oak despite fluffing some glorious chances.

The 24-year-old for most of the game was in the pocket of Hearts defender Philip Boampong who largely ensured the Ivorian did not wave his magic on Sunday.

Toure however got away from Boampong on a few occasions but failed to make his breakaway count either firing into the hands of goalkeeper Sammy Adjei or shooting off target.

Boampong’s dominance was confirmed when Coach Maxwell Konadu decided to pull his star striker out late on for Nafiu Iddrissu who hardly touched the ball throughout the remaining duration.

The unusual profligacy of Toure especially against Hearts on the day according to the player himself is a usual phase a player goes through and therefore has no cause for alarm.

“I am ok with my performance, we got a point here away to Hearts so I am satisfied,”he told GHANAsoccernet.com.

“I am not disappointed I didn’t score, this is the game of football and things like this happen.

“Sometimes you score, sometimes you don’t score and it is normal so I am not bothered at all.”
