AFCON winning coach Hugo Broos, ex-Ghana boss Kwesi Appiah and former France international Willy Sagnol are among is among three coaches set to be interviewed for the Ghana national team job this weekend, Supersport has reported.

Ghana’s Black Stars have been without a substantive coach since Avram Grant’s contract ended in February.

The Football Association instituted a six-man search committee led by its President Kwesi Nyantakyi which attracted a reported 132 applications after a 10-day period.

Nyantakyi confirmed on Tuesaday that the interviews will be held this week.

The Committee has since pruned the list to a desired three with all set to take turns for interviews in Accra from March 31 to April 2, 2017, a reliable source revealed.

Though the Ghana FA has kept its cards close to chest over the identities of these coaches, supersport.com has established there have been communications with two of the names – former coach James Kwasi Appiah and Frenchman Willy Sagnol.

The third person, media reports have however suggested to be Africa Cup of Nations winning coach Hugo Broos who is unhappy with his current employers Cameroon.

Sagnol, a former defender of Bayern Munich, is understood to be touching down in Accra on Thursday before meeting the Ghana coaching search committee the next day. The 40-year-old has previously coached the France Under-21s and Ligue 1 side Girondins Bordeaux.

According to sources at the corridors of the football governing body, the committee intends to complete the interviews with the three coaches by Sunday, April 2 after which it will submit its final report on a preferred coach for the Black Stars to the Executive Committee for approval.

Last week, the vice-President of the Ghana FA, George Afriyie, mentioned the body’s plans to have the next Ghana coach appointed in April.
