Dino Lamberti, agent of Leicester City midfielder Gokhan Inler, has revealed that Sampdoria are not seriously interested in his client despite rumours claiming otherwise.
The 31-year-old, who has made just four Premier League appearances for the Foxes since arriving from Napoli over the summer, has been heavily linked with a January move away from the English club and it seems like he’s closest to ending up in Germany with Schalke on loan for the remainder of the season, rather than back in Italy with the Blucerchiati.
Lamberti spoke to TuttoMercatoWeb.com about Inler’s supposed link to Sampdoria and commented on where he’ll likely end up in the future.
“It’s not definite that Inler will be leaving Leicester, though there are some teams interested in him in Italy,” said the agent.
“Sampdoria? I heard they were interested, but I honestly have not heard from anyone from Sampdoria.
“Schalke? They’re interested in my client. We will see how the story evolves over time.
“If Inler leaves Leicester, he will most likely leave on a loan deal with an option to buy.”
