Sampdoria are preparing to return to Inter Milan with a €3 million bid to permanently sign Ghana international midfielder Joseph Alfred Duncan, according to reports in Italy.

Walter Zenga, who took charge at Sampdoria before the end of the Serie A season, has requested for Duncan on permanent basis.

Sampdoria are ready to offer Duncan a contract until 2019 if Inter Milan accept their â‚¬3 million bid for the 22-year-old, who scored once in 15 Serie A games last season.

Duncan arrived in Sampdoria as a loanee from Inter before the start of the season but struggled to crack himself into a midfield trio Obiang-Palombo-Soriano used by former manager Sinisa Mihajlovic.

But the former Inter Primavera captain warmed himself into the team and sealed a regular starting spot when Zenga took charge at the later stages of the season.
