Sassuolo star Alfred Duncan has maintained his place in the Ghana squad for next month’s 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Mauritius after impressing against Mozambique last month.

Duncan was making his competitive debut and he excelled in the 0-0 draw play in Maputo.

The 23-year-old lasted the entire duration of the match and was exciting to watch with his break up plays and defence splitting passes.

Duncan nearly scored from close range after being teed up by Jordan Ayew but his effort was deflected out for a corner-kick.

He earned his first cap for Ghana back in November 2012 when he was handed a start in the friendly against Cape Verde played in Portugal.

Duncan made 33 appearances and scored one goal as Sassuolo qualified for next season’s Europa League.
