Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah revealed this week that he has penciled down close to 20 players who will board the flight to Brazil for June's World Cup.

Who in your estimation could be part of the players who are sure candidates to make it to the country's third successive global showpiece in South America.

To me this would be the perfect squad if all players are fit GK - Dauda, Kwarasey, Adams/ Daniel Agyei Full backs - Opare, Afful, Jonathan Mensah (can also play centre back) Centrebacks - Vorsah, Boye, Akaminko, Sumaila Midfielders - Essien, Badu, Wakaso, Muntari, Ayew, Kwadwo Asamoah Wingers - Acheampong, Atsu, Jordan Strikers - Kevin Prince Boateng, Gyan, Majeed Waris. The 23rd spot could go to anyone really. Any of these players could be selected for that last spot: Inkoom, Baba Rahman, David Addy, Afriyie Acquah, Rabiu Mohammed, Albert Adomah, Boakye Yiadom, Assifuah, Yartey. For some reason I have this feeling that Appiah would drop Jordan, Acheampong, and Sumaila or Vorsah for Adomah, Inkoom and probably take Rabiu for the last spot. But for me untouchables are Kwarasey, Jonathan Mensah, Boye, Essien, Badu, Muntari, Ayew, Kwadwo Asamoah, Atsu, KPB, Gyan, and Waris.

I will find a way to stick Shadrach Eghan in this squad. He is young but very talented and will have the potential of being a super sub. And he is not very known by opposition teams.

Crazy fool. you mentioned everybody but ghana's best player, Kwadwo Asamoah. Moreover, your selections are way off the mark. Try this; Kwarassey Dauda Agyei Inkoom Opare Afful Boye Akaminko Jonathan Sumaila Gyima Essien Badu Frimpong Andre Atsu Kwadwo Wakaso Muntari Acheampong Gyan Wariss Prince

We need mostly the young talented players more than the old experience players. Therefore, with Essien, Muntari and Gyan in the squad who cannot do most of the runnings, the young ones like Frimpong, Acheampong and Wariss are very essential to our course. Emmanuel Frimpong will supplement Essien very well with energy and robost and skill in midfield. Out of the left flank, Acheampong will stand in perfectly when Muntari gets tired. Acheampong is the fastest player in the squad. He is also very talented and precision deliveries and scoring. We all see how Wariss helps out Asamoah Gyan. A word to the wise......

When you say untouchable you mean who would start in a do or die game against a tough opponent. Here it is: Goalie: Kwarsey LB: Kasa!! RB: J Mensah CB: Vorsah CB: Boye DM: Agyeman Badu AM: K. Boateng LW: Muntari RW: Dede FW: Warris FW: Gyan I have put Kasa at left back and J Mensah at right back because this is the best way for us to have the best players on the field.

@Nana, I like your selection very much. These other players could be added in case the listed players above are not available. Assifuah won the golden boot at the U20.....he is a work horse, a machine....all he needs is a tune up and he will fit in perfectly in attack. Adomah has pace but he needs to continue scoring goals like he has been doing lately to increase his chances.

The weakest part of our team currently is the central defence. Kwesi Appiah should experiment during the training and trial matches with the system juventus plays where there are three central defenders and two wing backs. We have natural wing backs in Harrison Afful and Kwadwo Asamoah. They will play as defenders and midfirlders at the same time depending on whether we are on the offensive or defensive. With this we play 3-5-2 when we are on the offensive and 5-3-2 when on the defensive. Egypt won three back to back afcon titles with this formation under Hassan Shehatta.

My untouchables does not include Essen and KPB for the sole reason that I am convinced they can not give consistent peak performance because of their health.I will like to see Adams in the post and Adusei,Ainosoon given a chance at the world cup.

Nana, I can't believe you will have Wakaso,Waris,Badu,Atsu,Mensah and Afful sitting on the bench. These are part of the core black stars. They will crucify us if we go in depending on the old and unhealthy PkB and Essien.

Below is my opinion on perceived untouchables and those that risk not making this talented squad. My preference is for selection of experienced players, but will take explosive players (fast change of pace speed)when selecting players on the bubble. GK - 3 Untouchables - Dauda, Kwarasey, On the bubble - Kingson, Adams, Agyei best player at camp will become the 3rd GK for tourney. My preference is Agyei because of his 2010 experience and his relative youth compared to Kingson. DEF - 8 Untouchables - Inkoom, Vorsah, J Mensah, Opare, Afful, Boye On the bubble - J. Paintsil, Lee Addy, Akimanko, Sumaila, D. Addy. My preference is Lee Addy and J. Paintsil who have both combined for about 10 world cup match experience. Since this is the area we are concerned about. If Paintsil comes to camp not able to keep up with younger faster wing players, I would take Akimanko as the 8th defender and utilize Asamoah when LB and RB players accumulate yellow cards at tourney. MID - 8 Untouchables - K. Asamoah, Muntari, Ayew, Wakaso, Atsu, Badu. On the bubble - Essien, D. Boateng, A. Annan, Rabiu M, Achaempong, Frimpong, Adomah. We are loaded with talent in the middle of the pitch so hard to make a mistake here. I would prefer to see Essien due to skill level and experience should he be in game shape and Achaempong. I knew little about Achaempong till reading previous post and seeing highlights but dude has game changer speed. I think Frimpong and Ribiu may miss out due to our abundance of holding mids. FWD - 4 Untouchables - Gyan, KPB, Warris, On the bubble - J. Ayew, Boakye, D. Adiyah. I think Jordan Ayew wins out over the other 3 players in camp in my opinion. Regardless what the final 23 i am certain this team is more talented than 2010 version. Hopefully they can work hard, play good team defense and exceed the quarterfinals this time around.
