SCANDAL: Sacked Ebusua Dwarfs coach JE Sarpong accuses club director of pocketing bribes for referees

Ex-Ebusua Dwarfs coach J.E Sarpong has accused the club's Director of Operations John Ansah of pocketing monies meant to bribe referees in the Ghana Premier League.

Sarpong was relieved off his post last month after 11 matches where his side slipped to the foot of the table following a 3-0 defeat at Asante Kotoko.

His was shown the exit for non-performance but the veteran trainer has shockingly revealed what brought about the bad results.

"Does he give monies meant for referees to them? He shouldn’t make me annoyed. That is what was happening," Sarpong revealed on Light FM.

"I have met many referees who tell me when monies are given to Mr Ansah, he does not give it to me

"Next time if you go and say somewhere that I take bribes from players, I will tell the whole world who you are.

"Dwarfs should not joke with me at all because the facts I have, their team will be defunct."

Dwarfs finished on 15th on the league table after the first round but have since appointed Prosper Nartey, a lecturer at the University of Cape Coast to take charge.
