Schalke 04 coach happy to see Baba Rahman return strongly after lengthy lay off

Schalke O4 Coach Domenico Tedesco says he is happy to see Ghanaian defender Baba Abdul Rahman return to action after 15 months out with an injury.

The Ghanaian left back saw 20 minutes of action in Schalke's 1-0 win over Kevin Prince Boateng's Eintracht Frankfurt on Sunday to finish the season in second place.

The Chelsea defender is on an 18 month loan deal after failure to brake into the Blues side and the injuries that have marred his career in London.

However, after several months out with injury the Ghanaian returned to the pitch exciting manager Domenico Todesco, who has so much faith in the left back.

"I’m happy for Baba. He’s been out for a long time and came back today like he’d never been out. First and foremost, I’m happy to have given something back to the people who love this club so much," he told the club's website in the final game of the season.

Baba Rahman has twelve months remaining on his current loan deal, and will take the advantage of the end of the season to build on his fitness for a better next campaign.

The former Kotoko defender, who got injured at the 2017 Africa Cup of nations will have to work hard for a return to the senior national team.
