Jeffrey Schlupp

Ghana defender Jeffrey Schlupp was left out of Leicester City's squad for their goalless draw against Arsenal on Saturday despite being convinced to stay at the club.

The utility player was forcing a move from the Foxes because of the lack of playing time with the English champions.

However Leicester City coach Claudio Ranieri convinced him to stay, resisting four offers from West Brom.

Just a day after it was certain that Schlupp won't be leaving the Foxes, he was completely left out of the squad that played Arsenal.

The left-back, who can also play behind the strikers, was not even on the bench for the Foxes who have even been depleted with some departures.

This could be a sour point for Schlupp who has been keen on playing matches to boost his chances of playing in Ghana's starting team ahead of the World Cup qualifiers.

The Ghanaian also insists playing in regular matches would make him reach his full potential.
